Painted during a walk near Steyning in West Sussex, Cloud Drama South Downs captures the ever changing skies that sweep across the English landscape. Towering clouds gather and dissolve above the rolling Downs while light moves across the fields below, transforming the scene from one moment to the next.

Created with fluid watercolour and expressive acrylic brushwork, the painting reflects my longstanding fascination with weather, atmosphere and the emotional power of nature. Rather than describing a particular place in detail, the work seeks to capture the experience of being beneath a dramatic English sky and witnessing its constant movement and transformation.
