A portrait of musician Julius Bannister, whose career has spanned more than four decades in the professional music world.
Awarded a Bowring Scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Bannister went on to perform with the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, work extensively with the London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestra, and appear in West End productions including Les Misérables. Alongside his orchestral work he has recorded thousands of film, television and commercial soundtracks and has performed internationally throughout his career.
Now based in Deal, Kent, he remains an active and much respected figure in the local music community. This charcoal portrait captures the concentration and expressive energy of a lifelong musician in performance.
