Tulips have appeared in my work for many years, both as paintings and as sculptures. I am drawn to their elegance and vitality, the way they seem to move and gesture even when standing still.

In Red Tulips 2026, vibrant red blooms emerge from a monochrome charcoal drawing, creating a striking contrast between energy and stillness. The work combines expressive mark making with observation, allowing the flowers to become both a familiar subject and an exploration of line, rhythm and form. With just a hint of mystery.
