Summer Heaat View Alexander Palace

Summer Heat View Alexander Palace captures the stillness of a hot summer’s day in the park. Loose washes of green frame an open sweep of pale grass, while a richly coloured purple tree brings depth to the scene. A bench and its long blue-grey shadow lead the eye towards distant buildings beneath a broad, light-blue sky.

Painted outdoors during a day spent painting with Stephanie’s stepdaughter, this work carries both the freshness of a direct response to the landscape and the memory of time shared. Areas of untouched paper allow light to move through the composition, balancing the deeper foliage with a sense of space and ease.

Its intimate scale invites a closer look at the fluid brushwork and the texture of the handmade paper, bringing a quiet moment of summer into the home.
