Every so often I rediscover a story that reminds me why I became an artist. Recently, while researching my family history, I came across old photographs, newspaper cuttings and memoirs that revealed more about my great grandmother, Charlotte Hewish. As a young woman, Charlotte was an aerialist. Together with her sisters she trained in Paris before touring Europe, Russia, Japan, America and Canada. Depending on where they performed, they appeared under different names, including The Onetti Sisters in Europe and the Patterson Troupe in America.
