En plein air painting yesterday on Walmer seafront.   Really pleased with my upgraded watercolour set and calligraphy brushes. I’ve never exhibited my small works on paper and am happy that this time of isolation has given me time to reflect on selling from my art website. First there were the Bushfires in Australia and the devastation that caused and then Covid-19 struck.   Only one of the paintings is finished at the moment but the other two will join "Australia" in this collection.   At the start of 2020 around the world among News media, Koalas became the metaphor for the non human effects of Climate change.   Of course now as the year progresses, a lot has changed. Humans have stopped moving around and pollution and CO2 emissions are reducing.    I will continue to do paintings about the effects of the fires in Australia....

Sometimes it feels like my old life because I work from home anyway. And an artists studio life is a lonely one, so that’s normal. But the financial stress of trying to work out how to sell my work without exhibitions is really stressful. Fortunately I’m part of a group of artists being taught by @sergiogomezart and @dryaninagomez at the @artnxtlevel Academy to prepare for our new normal cultural lives. Working on these Art Postcards during Lockdown has been invigorating. I start with a walk or cycle and then come home and paint from memory. No photos or visual aides. Artist In Isolation As we move forward in this new world of closed galleries and cancelled exhibitions the online world of galleries is moving forward at a speed. Artists, well known for adapting and creating new ways of working, have moved into the world of new ways of exhibiting online. Naturally I am one of them.
